This is Polly, a 7 year old Rottweiler, or Rottie as they are often referred to.

We arrived at Polly’s house during her afternoon nap and initially she wasn’t thrilled with my camera equipment and lights.  The brother of Polly’s owner hired me to take her picture as a surprise gift and we had very little time before Mom came home.

The AKC Breed profile says “Rottweilers love their people and may behave in a clownish manner toward family and friends, but they are protective of their territory and do not welcome strangers until properly introduced.”

Polly knew the brother well and after my introduction, she displayed her best antics and ball catching tricks.  I tried to explain to Polly I was there to shoot still pictures, not video.  She listened so intently, I got a new card shot. 

Polly’s face is a perfect example of “furry empathy,” sincere eyes that say, “You can tell me almost anything and I’ll listen nonjudgmentally.”  Isn’t there someone in your life who would like to hear this message? 

I’ve designed my card line to fit a furry face to an emotion so you don’t have to look just for your favorite breed.  Polly will carry your message to any animal lover.

After understanding her job, she was an obliging model.  But she was glad to get back to her nap when we finished.
